Model Region for Digital Healthcare Franconia
At the end of 2012, the Bavarian State Ministry for Economy and Media, Energy and Technology proclaimed the Model Region for Digital Healthcare Franconia. The model region is a pilot project within the framework of the Bavarian efforts to enhance the healthcare sector. The model region is a platform to network and initialise digitalisation projects. During 2013/2014, projects with a total volume of more than 8 million € were initiated and completed. Medical Valley EMN supports projects in the model region. To achieve results, the projects are initially realised in an environment that is limited in space and professional area (Medical Valley) with the focus on optimising the medication process.
The following projects are/will be performed within the framework of the Model Region for Digital Healthcare Franconia with the support of the Bavarian State Ministry for Economy and Media, Energy and Technology:
Development of software to increase the efficiency of the steady prescription of medical products 
Enhancement of pharmacotherapy safety through intersectoral networking - MediPlan (eMP). 
Intersector networking in medication management between care services, doctor and pharmacy via MediPlanOnline® 
Development of a mobile supply log in rural areas to improve drug safety
