iO life science is a lean and responsive medical device engineering service, trusted by established companies and successful start-ups alike.  Recent customers include Novartis, AbbVie, AstraZeneca, Madorra and Graftworx.

We exist to improve the lives of patients, and do so by transforming our clients’ technologies into innovative and attractive products, always with the needs of the patient or the user at the fore.  When required, we work within the framework of our agile and ISO13485-approved QMS.

The service we offer spans the entire development process, from capturing user needs to undertaking design transfer.  We are experienced in taking a technology at Proof-of-Concept level, and developing a user-focused product around it, often with digital connectivity, and place great emphasis on Human Factors Engineering and Industrial Design in the concept phase of the project.   

Our network-based operational model allows us to assemble project teams for our clients, that precisely reflect the project content, and leverage the best the market has to offer.  Our core team is built around specialists in regulatory compliance, Systems Engineering and technical project leadership and includes many years of consulting and start-up experience in various med-tech fields.  We have nodes in the Bay Area, Munich, Basel and Pune. 

We offer the client a single point of contact to a project team assembled from our extensive network of technical experts and strategic partners, that contains those skills, and only those skills, required for the project.  For the client, this means less project management effort, reduced development costs, less risk and shorter time-to-market.
