T-09: Developing an in-vivo sensor for the detection of infectionswith helicobacter pylori

This project has various goals. The main aim is to develop a fast and highly selective helicobacter pylori (Hp) in vivo sensor. The measuring procedure is to be performed on the basis of an already developed in vitro sensor, which has been tested in a clinical study. This new and unique technique should enable gastroenterologists to quickly and simply conduct multiple Hp diagnoses during a gastroscopy, making the need to perform a biopsy for Hp testing superfluous. The results can be read immediately and any treatment can be commenced straight away following the examination.
